Chandigarh, Mar 23 (PTI) Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) president Abhay Singh Chautala on Monday alleged that over the past eleven years, the BJP government in Haryana has pushed the youth into an abyss.

He was addressing a public gathering during INLD’s “Yuva Sammelan” in Narwana, Jind district.

“The youth of Haryana are the hardest-working and most capable in the entire nation. But over the past eleven years, the BJP has pushed the youth of Haryana into an abyss,” Chautala said.

He also alleged that under the BJP rule, the youth are dejected and disillusioned.

The INLD chief recalled that during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, when he visited every village in the Kurukshetra parliamentary constituency and asked villagers why young people were conspicuously absent from political gatherings, it became evident that the youth are frustrated, dispirited, and hopeless.

Hurt by the lack of employment opportunities within their own state, the local youth are compelled to risk their lives by attempting to migrate abroad via the treacherous “Donkey” route (illegal channels), he said.

Chautala claimed that on one hand, youth are facing unemployment, while on the other drug abuse and crime are also on the rise.

He further claimed that in 2029, the INLD would form its government in Haryana, and in the next elections, the party would allocate 50 percent of its tickets to young candidates.

“Upon the formation of our government, one young person from every household will be provided with a government job. Any youth who remains without employment will receive a monthly “Samman Bhatta” (honorarium) of Rs 21,000,” he said.

Furthermore, interest-free loans of Rs 1 crore will be provided to the youth to enable them to become self-reliant, he added.

The “Yuva Sammelan” was organized under the coordination of Karan Chautala, the national In-charge of the party’s youth wing.

During the event, INLD’s Haryana MLAs Arjun Chautala and Aditya Devi Lal, the state unit chief of the party, Rampal Majra, and senior leader Sampat Singh were also present.

Abhay Chautala reiterated that INLD chose to abstain from voting in the March 16 Rajya Sabha elections for the two seats from Haryana, keeping in view the sentiments of the people.

BJP’s Sanjay Bhatia won one seat comfortably, while the Congress candidate, Karamvir Singh Boudh, secured the second seat in a close contest against independent candidate Satish Nandal.

The Congress identified five of its MLAs who allegedly cross-voted in the Rajya Sabha polls and issued show-cause notices to them. Among the five votes declared invalid by the returning officer, four were allegedly cast by Congress legislators.

He remarked that the Congress has consistently engaged in mudslinging and negative politics, going so far as to label the INLD as the “B-team” of the BJP, “whereas the games are played by Congress to help the BJP”.

“We saw what happened in 2016 and 2022 in the Rajya Sabha polls in the state. Congress helps BJP, and then they target us,” he said.

Congress has 37 MLAs in the 90-member state Assembly, and before the Rajya Sabha polls, leaders like Bhupinder Singh Hooda claimed that their party candidate Karamvir Boudh would get at least 39 votes, he further said.

“Even at that time, I had said if a Congress candidate gets 30 votes, I will still say Hooda has some control over his party unit,” he said.

Chautala also alleged that for ten years Congress plundered the state, and now for the past eleven years the BJP is doing the same. PTI SUN OZ OZ
