Sasaram, Apr 1 (PTI) A 30-year-old woman died on Wednesday after she allegedly consumed poison along with her two children in Bihar’s Rohtas district, days after her husband was beaten to death in a land dispute, police said.

The woman consumed poison on Tuesday at her home in Muradabad village in the Sasaram Mufassil police station area, they said.

Her two children, a boy and a girl, are currently undergoing treatment, they added.

SP Raushan Kumar said the woman had been under severe distress since the killing of her husband on March 24.

“The woman’s husband was beaten to death in a land dispute. She had been under distress since then,” he said.

According to villagers, the woman allegedly consumed poison after locking herself inside her house along with her children.

Family members later rushed the three to a nearby hospital, from where they were referred to another medical facility for advanced treatment.

The woman died during treatment, while the children survived.

Four persons have been arrested in connection with her husband’s murder, while raids are underway to nab four other suspects, the SP said. PTI COR SUK SOM
