New Delhi, Apr 1 (PTI) Trinamool Congress MP Kirti Azad on Tuesday alleged large-scale irregularities in voter enrolment, claiming that names of individuals from Bihar were being added to electoral rolls in other states, in violation of rules.

“Voters are being brought from Bihar, and their names are being added to the voter list,” Azad said, adding that the issue had been flagged earlier but remained unaddressed.

“This issue was raised on February 27 last year, but even after 13 months, no action has been taken,” he said at a press conference here.

The TMC leader also claimed there was visual evidence of alleged involvement of leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party. “There are videos which reveal how BJP leaders are involved in this,” he said, though no independent verification of the claim was immediately available.

Referring to the submission of a large number of Form 6 applications — used for inclusion of names in electoral rolls — Azad said their consideration would be improper. “If the Election Commission considers these 30,000 Form 6 applications, it would be against the rules,” he said.

He further said West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had written to the Election Commission raising the matter.

Taking a swipe at the BJP’s electoral claims, Azad said, “It failed to achieve ‘200 paar’ last time, and even ‘400 paar’ did not happen.” He added, “This is the new game they have started, and they are failing badly in it.” PTI AO PRK
