Patna, Mar 13 (PTI) The Bihar assembly on Friday received a bomb threat through email, officials said.
Speaker Prem Kumar took notice of the threat and held a meeting with senior officials of the assembly secretariat, they said.
Kumar instructed officers to inform the chief secretary and the DGP about the situation, and ensure a thorough search of the assembly premises, an official statement said.
Security has been tightened on the assembly premises following the threat mail.
The development comes ahead of the Rajya Sabha polls in the state on March 16, voting for which is scheduled to be held on the assembly premises. PTI SUK RBT
