Arunachal governor meets youths at Lok Bhavan

Itanagar, Apr 13 (PTI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor K T Parnaik on Monday participated in a youth interaction programme ‘Let’s Speak Arunachal’ at Lok Bhavan here.

Organised by NGO Let’s Speak Arunachal in collaboration with the governor’s secretariat, the programme aimed to encourage students to overcome hesitation and express themselves with confidence, an official report said.

Commending the initiative, the governor said empowering youth with confidence, discipline, and communication skills is essential for shaping responsible citizens and future leaders.

He encouraged teachers and parents to support children in developing public speaking skills and stressed the importance of proficiency in English for better career opportunities and communication.

The governor also announced that the governor’s secretariat will organise a debate and declamation competition at Lok Bhavan to provide students with a platform to hone their speaking abilities.

He said similar competitions should be organised regularly in schools and colleges.

During the programme, the governor felicitated students and individuals who have contributed to promoting public speaking through Let’s Speak Arunachal.

Students also shared their experiences of overcoming stage fright through the initiative.

The programme featured addresses by Let’s Speak Arunachal founder and chairperson Porsum Ori and secretary Tana Jiri.
