Ludhiana, Mar 25 (PTI) Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia on Wednesday told party ministers and MLAs in Punjab that those afraid to fight the drug mafia should leave the Arvind Kejriwal-led party.
Addressing a Malwa zone meeting under the ‘Yudh Nashean Virudh’ campaign, the former deputy chief minister of Delhi said the fight against drugs is central to the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) politics and leaders like Kejriwal, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and himself entered public life to eliminate such networks.
No leader should shift responsibility and everyone must ensure that the drug trade does not continue in even a single ward or village under their jurisdiction, Sisodia said at the meeting.
“If anyone is afraid to act against drug traffickers, they should quit the party,” he said.
The AAP leader underlined that no one involved in the drug trade would be spared, even if they belonged to the party, and strict action would be taken against the guilty.
Sisodia said the fight against drugs is a collective battle and urged leaders and citizens to work together to make Punjab drug-free.
Addressing the meeting, Punjab minister Hardeep Singh Mundian said the state government was acting on a war footing to break the drug supply chain, arrest major traffickers and seize illegally acquired properties. PTI VSD DIV DIV
