Amaravati, Apr 11 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday said social reformer Jyotirao Phule, who fought against casteism and other social evils, remains a lasting inspiration.

The CM paid homage to Phule on the occasion of his 199th birth anniversary.

Phule was born on April 11, 1827, and devoted his life to educating backward communities and women. He died on November 28, 1890.

“Phule, who fought against caste discrimination and worked for the rights of the downtrodden and women, is always an inspiration for us,” Naidu said in a post on X, calling Phule the father of the social revolution.

Naidu said it is the responsibility of all to follow the path shown by Phule.

Later, the CM paid floral tributes to a portrait of Phule at his camp office. PTI STH SSK
