New Delhi, Apr 6 (PTI) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday directed departments to ensure time-bound execution of development work announced in the budget and update the progress on the official Pragati portal.

Gupta chaired a high-level review meeting with administrative secretaries and heads of departments at the Delhi Secretariat, assessing progress and timelines of various projects.

The officials have been asked to set clear short-term targets –15 days, 20 days and one month — and update progress accordingly, she said and noted that this approach will help identify delays early and ensure corrective action is taken without affecting overall timelines.

The chief minister said that building a ‘Viksit Delhi’ would require efficient execution and visible outcomes so that the city’s transformation is evident and instils a sense of pride among its residents.

The meeting focused on continuous and rigorous monitoring of all major projects through the CM Pragati Portal.

Gupta directed all departments to regularly upload detailed updates on project progress, defined timelines and upcoming milestones to enable real-time tracking and close supervision of on-ground developments, the statement said.

The entire work cycle — tendering, commencement and completion — must follow a pre-defined and time-bound plan. Any bottlenecks should be escalated immediately for resolution instead of allowing projects to remain pending, Gupta said.

She asked officials to adopt a phased and structured implementation plan and stressed the importance of optimal utilisation of budgetary resources through a target-driven and time-bound work system.

The Delhi government aims to complete all major projects before 2029, with clearly defined timelines for each, regardless of size or scale, said the chief minister.
