New Delhi: The government has decided to launch a special campaign to provide relief to pensioners and their families. Under this campaign, as many as 1,891 grievances related to family pensions will be redressed in one month.

From July 1 to 31, this special campaign will be conducted by 46 departments.

According to a statement by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), around 90,000 grievances are being registered on the Centralized Pension Grievance and Redress System (CPENGRAMS) by the applicants or by the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (dopPW) on receipt of the details by email, post, and toll free number 1800-11-1960.

The family pension related grievances constitute 20-25 percent of all the grievances registered on CPENGRAMS. The majority of these grievances are of women pensioners.

The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (dopPW) has planned to monitor and provide full assistance to the concerned departments for the effective redressal of grievances on a mission mode approach.
