Several jawans have been injured, officials said.

According to information, the deceased were part of a group giving protection to road-construction workers when Naxals attacked around 2.30 pm Tuesday.

The Director General of Police expressed condolences to the families and vowed to hunt down the elusive Naxals, according to the force.

Officials said the CRPF strongly fought back but could not catch the Naxals.
