New Delhi: At least 20 people have died and many others feared trapped after a massive fire broke out at a three-storey commercial building near Delhi’s Mundka metro station Friday evening, news agency ANI reported.

ANI also quoted DCP Sameer Sharma, Outer district, as saying that the fire spread on two floors. “Police force deployed with the area being cordoned off… Fire on two floors,” he said.
Sunil Choudhary, deputy chief fire officer, Delhi Fire Service, was also quoted as saying that some people jumped off the building and have been shifted to the hospital.
The commercial building is located near Mundka metro station in west Delhi. At least 24 fire engines have been deployed at the spot to douse the flames.

President Ram Nath Kovind, meanwhile, condoled the incident and wished a speedy recovery for the injured.
