United against terrorism: Modi pays tributes to fallen heroes of Parliament attack; Sonia, Rahul join him
5 LeT- & JeM-linked terrorists stormed Parliament complex 13 December 2001 & opened indiscriminate fire, killing 9 people. They were neutralised before they could enter the House.
New Delhi: Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid tributes to security personnel who laid down their lives while thwarting the 13 December 2001 terrorist attack on the Parliament complex.
The two leaders were joined by MPs from both sides of the aisle, including Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, and Union ministers Kiren Rijiju, Manohar Lal Khattar, Piyush Goyal, and Jitendra Singh.
Nine people were killed in the attack, including security personnel and civilians. The five terrorists were also gunned down.
