New Delhi: Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi and party president Mallikarjun Kharge addressed the media at the Congress office Tuesday after the party registered a win on 99 seats and its partners in the INDIA bloc delivered a strong performance in the Lok Sabha elections.
“The fight is not over,” Kharge said, adding that since none of the parties received a full majority, the Congress would hold discussions with its allies as well as “new partners”.
“We will talk to our alliance partners and the new partners, who are going to ally with them, and see how we can establish a majority… If I reveal all our strategies here, Modi ji will become wary,” the Congress president said.
Speaking to the media, Rahul Gandhi said, “UP ki janta ne kamaal karke dikha diya (the people of Uttar Pradesh have performed a miracle)… They understood the politics of the country, the danger to the Constitution, and they safeguarded the Constitution.”
