New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin visited India for the 21st annual summit meeting between the countries Monday, and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Russian President was last in India in 2018.
Monday’s visit is Putin’s second outside Russia this year, which shows the importance that country attaches to India.
Apart from the annual summit, the two countries also held their inaugural 2+2 ministerial dialogue between their foreign and defence ministers.
Some of the main outcomes of the meeting were India and Russia signing a 10-year long military-technical cooperation agreement and sealing the contract to manufacture six lakh units of the AK-203 assault rifles.
