PM Modi and his ‘boss’: Glimpses from Nitin Nabin’s first day as BJP president
Addressing BJP leaders & workers after Nitin Nabin took over as party president, PM Modi said ‘when it is about the party, Nitin Nabin is the boss, and I am a party worker’.
New Delhi: Multi-term Bihar BJP MLA Nitin Nabin took charge as the party’s national president Tuesday, with Prime Minister Narenda Modi congratulating the 45-year-old and referring to him as his “boss”.
Nabin termed PM Modi’s record on public service an inspiration for him and party workers. “I express my heartfelt gratitude to honourable Prime Minister Modi ji because we, as ordinary workers, have always observed from afar how you are continuously working for the service of the nation,” Nabin said in his maiden speech after taking over as the party president.
“Our top leadership has given an ordinary worker like me the opportunity to reach the highest position in the party, and for this, I bow to all of you.”
In his address, PM Modi said that regardless of how high they rise, everyone in the BJP considers themselves a party worker.
“People might think that Narendra Modi is the prime minister of the country, that he has become prime minister for the third time, that he became a chief minister at the young age of 50, and that he has been the head of government continuously for 25 years—all of that is true. But the most important thing for me is that I am a BJP worker.”
“When it is about the party, Nitin Nabin is the boss, and I am a party worker,” he said.
