In pictures: Brazilian President Lula’s ceremonial welcome in New Delhi
Ceremonial honours at Rashtrapati Bhavan, a Rajghat tribute and the launch of ApexBrasil’s first Delhi office mark President Lula’s visit focused on trade, investment and AI cooperation.
New Delhi: Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva received a ceremonial welcome at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan, hosted by President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
President Lula also met External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.
On Friday, President Lula inaugurated the first office of the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) in New Delhi. Sharing the details in a post on X, he said the office would promote Brazilian products and services abroad and attract foreign investment to strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy.
He arrived on Wednesday with a large delegation of top CEOs of Brazilian companies to participate in the India AI Impact Summit 2026, held at Bharat Mandapam from 16 to 20 February.
The Brazilian President last visited India in September 2023 for the G20 Leaders’ Summit, also hosted at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
