New Delhi: Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was Friday accorded a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi.
Addressing the media, Albanese — on a four-day visit to India till 11 March — thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a “warm welcome” and said, “Australia and India are great friends. We are partners and we are building that partnership even stronger each and every day”.
“We are competing on the cricket field to be the world’s best but together we are building a better world,” he added.
Modi and Albanese also held bilateral talks at Hyderabad House in the capital.
The Indian PM raised the issue of recent attacks on temples in Australia with Albanese. In his media statement, Modi said, “It is a matter of regret that reports of attacks on temples have come regularly from Australia over the past few weeks. It is natural that such news worries everyone in India, disturbs our mind.”
