New Delhi: Rekha Gupta was sworn in as chief minister of Delhi at the historic Ramlila Ground Thursday, in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh and J.P. Nadda. Lieutenant Governor V. K. Saxena administered the oath of office.
Others who took oath include Parvesh Verma, Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Kapil Mishra, Ravinder Indraj Singh, Kapil Mishra and Pankaj Singh.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and his deputy Eknath Shinde were also present.
The BJP has come to power in Delhi after 27 years, registering a massive win in the assembly polls earlier this month.
A first-time MLA elected from Shalimar Bagh seat, Rekha Gupta is the fourth woman chief minister of Delhi.
