A post going viral on social media (here, here, and here) claims to show a screenshot of an X post, allegedly made by Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The screenshot includes a statement criticising the government for spending crores on ritual baths while the country lacks access to drinking water. This post is being shared with the claim that Priyanka Gandhi made these remarks about the 2025 Prayagraj Maha Kumbh Mela, which began on 13 January 2025.
Upon searching for the X profile (@PriyankagaINC) mentioned in the photo, we found that the account does not exist. The official verified handle of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is ‘@priyankagandhi‘, not ‘@PriyankagaINC’.

Additionally, the same tweet was found to be circulating even before Priyanka Gandhi Vadra joined X . While Priyanka Gandhi Vadra officially joined X on 10 February 2019, the viral tweet was posted on social media on 8 February 2019 (archived). If the tweet had truly been posted by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, major news agencies would likely have covered the story. However, no such news articles were found.
Factly previously debunked the same tweet when it went viral, claiming that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s tweet referred to India as a country of fools and that she criticised the government for spending money on ritual baths.
To sum up, the viral tweet claiming Vadra criticised government spending on the 2025 Prayagraj Maha Kumbh is fake.
