New Delhi: Over 41 lakh people in India have received the Covid-19 vaccine so far. Active coronavirus cases also continue to decline, falling to the lowest since 17 June 2020.
India’s test positivity rate remains relatively low at 1.5 per cent.
Daily cases

In the last 24 hours, 11,039 new cases of Covid-19 infections were reported, with nearly 70 per cent of the new cases from Kerala and Maharashtra.
Active cases

Active cases in India fell to 1,60,057 Wednesday. While the overall active case count has fallen, Chhattisgarh, Punjab and Goa reported a rise in cases.
Number of deaths

India recorded a total of 110 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, with the highest number of deaths reported from Maharashtra. This brings the total coronavirus death toll, since the beginning of the pandemic, in India to 1,54,596.
Mortality rate

Punjab’s case fatality rate, which is the highest in the country, reduced to 3.24. Meanwhile, Maharashtra’s CFR is the second-highest at 2.51. Sikkim’s fatality rate has increased to 2.21. The overall fatality rate for India has reduced to 1.43.
Daily tests

In the last 24 hours, 7,21,121 Covid-19 tests were carried out across 1,214 government laboratories and 1,150 private laboratories in the country.
A total of 19,84,73,178 tests have been carried out in India since the beginning of the pandemic.
Positivity rate

The daily test positivity rate for India increased to 1.5 per cent in the last 24 hours, after dropping to a record low of 1.3 per cent.
The overall positivity, calculated since the beginning of the pandemic, is 5.4 per cent.
Daily vaccinations

A total of 41,20,741 healthcare workers have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in India so far. Overall, 1,70,585 beneficiaries were vaccinated in the last 24 hours.
Recovered cases

As many as 14,225 Covid-19 patients were discharged across India in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries since the beginning of the pandemic to 1,04,62,631.
Total cases

A total of 1,07,77,284 people in India have been infected with Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic. The highest number of cases were reported from Maharashtra, followed by Karnataka and Kerala.
States with highest active cases

Kerala saw a decline in the active cases to 69,409. In the last 24 hours, 5,716 new Covid-19 cases were reported in the state, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 9,38,353. As many as 3,776 people have died due to Covid-19 in the state, with 16 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
Maharashtra’s active cases also fell to 42,830. As many as 1,927 new cases of Covid-19 were reported from the state in the last 24 hours, while 30 people died.
This brings the total number of cases detected from the state to 20,30,274, of which 51,139 people have died.
Karnataka’s active case count reduced to 5,943, with 395 new cases of Covid-19 detected in the last 24 hours. This brings the total infections detected in the state to 9,40,170.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 12,223 people have died of Covid-19 with three deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
Active cases in West Bengal fell to 5,305, with 203 new Covid-19 cases reported in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of infections detected in the state to 5,70,380.
A total of 10,188 people in the state have lost their lives to Covid, with nine deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
In Uttar Pradesh, active cases declined to 5,007, with 172 new cases of Covid-19 detected in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of cases in the state to 6,00,642. Of this, 8,668 people have died with six deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
