Mumbai, Apr 13 (PTI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday said the state government will build a music institute envisaged by legendary singer Asha Bhosle.

The 92-year-old singer, who mesmerised generations with her unforgettable melodies across seven decades, passed away on Sunday due to multi-organ failure at Breach Candy Hospital here.

The cabinet headed by Fadnavis also paid homage to the Bhosle, with a condolence resolution being read out by Chief Secretary Rajesh Agarwal. Deputy Chief Sunetra Pawar and cabinet ministers were present for the meeting.

Steps will be taken to build a music institute envisaged by Bhosle, a statement quoted Fadnavis as saying.

The proposal for the institute was mooted by Bhosle and the government will take it forward, the CM added. PTI PR BNM
