Chandigarh, Apr 5 (PTI) The 10th edition of the Kasauli Rhythm and Blues Festival (KRBF) concluded in Kasauli near here, bringing together music lovers, artists and patrons for a two-day celebration of music in support of a social cause.
Organised by Genesis Foundation in association with 1842 Kasauli, a gated community developed by Scapes Hospitality, the festival marked a dual milestone — 10 years of KRBF and 25 years of the foundation’s work for children with critical heart conditions.
More than 450 people attended the event, and despite rain on the opening day, performances continued with high enthusiasm.
The event held on April 3 and 4 featured musical bands and artistes like Rear Admiral Nirmala Kannan (retd) — a former Navy officer turned musician — Sharmaji and The Happy Factory, True Blue, and Indian Ocean, among others.
Held in an intimate setting in the hills, the festival enabled close interaction between artistes and the audience. The organisers said proceeds from the festival will go towards the treatment of underprivileged children suffering from congenital heart defects.
Genesis Foundation said it has supported the treatment of more than 5,400 critically ill children across India over the last 25 years, providing financial assistance for surgeries and post-treatment care to those from low-income families.
Founder Trustee Jyoti Sagar said the festival has become a platform to bring people together for a meaningful cause. Sameer Mutreja of 1842 Kasauli said the event blends music with social responsibility. PTI VSD RHL
