New Delhi: Away from the gaze of society, Indians, on OnlyFans, are reshaping their relationship with desire. The Indian libido is rooted in cultural familiarity (and to some extent reclamation), fascination for East Asia, residual West fantasy, and emotional longing, as per a first-ever psychological analysis by OnlyGuider.
The top OnlyFans search platform conducted a study analysing the search behaviour of 49 countries — representing a sample of three billion people — to uncover what users are looking for on the site.
In India, what users are typing into platforms like OnlyFans reveals far more than fleeting fantasies, it reflects a deeper pursuit of intimacy, quiet resistance, and a complex negotiation of identity.
“There’s a growing sense of inclusivity emerging, largely as a response to the early exposure Indians had to Western porn,” said Ahmedabad-based counselling psychologist Aditya Sundaray.
“For a long time, we were conditioned to believe that attractiveness had to fit a certain Western mold, that this is how one should look to be considered desirable. But now, with the rise of Indian categories and content, that idea is being challenged and, in many ways, rejected.”
The psychologist explained that long-established European beauty norms are increasingly being dismissed, as more people refuse to look outward for validation of what desire should look like.
“And, the creators of adult content are now validating these thoughts,” he added.
What tops Indian searches?
India’s top search terms on OnlyFans include: India, Chubby, Asian, Korea, Big Tits, Japan, Milf, Blonde, and Couple, according to the recently released study.
While these may seem like typical keywords in the adult content landscape, they paint a picture of the Indian erotic psyche. The fact that ‘India’ tops the list of keywords, according to the report, shows the trend of Indians “looking inwards first”.
“This isn’t just about wanting ‘Indian’ content, it’s about familiarity, language and aesthetics. In a society where family, community, and identity are deeply local, the fantasy must often feel familiar to feel safe. Indian users aren’t escaping their world, they’re eroticizing it,” the report stated.
At a time when global media still centres Western beauty and desire, Indian users searching for Indian creators may be reclaiming space. It’s like a subtle act of postcolonial defiance.
It suggests a yearning for bodies that reflect everyday life, not magazine covers. It’s as if the private search is doing what public spaces still struggle with: embracing vulnerability and alternative beauty.
Notably, Indian content is among the top 10 searches in other countries as well, including Australia, Canada, Brazil, France, New Zealand, the UK, and th US.
“It may be because of the Indian population in these countries, or I wouldn’t be surprised that people of other nationalities also prefer Indian adult content,” Sundaray noted.
“Indian adult content is very realistic. It debunks notions around bodytype, body hair and whatnot. It’s more accepting.”

Asian over Western
The growing popularity of K-pop stars, K-dramas and anime among the younger generation is now bleeding into the erotic space. There has been a growing allure toward East Asia with Korean and Japanese content being in demand by the Indian audience on OnlyFans.
East Asian identities, especially female ones, often get funneled through tropes of discipline, submission, and exoticism. This also reflects a fantasy framework where cultural fascination is often intertwined with objectification.
Despite the local and regional leanings, Western pornographic tropes remain influential but in residual form. Terms like Milf, Blonde, Big Tits are staples of the globalised adult industry and remain embedded in Indian search behaviour.
“These searches may also reflect diasporic exposure — NRIs and global Indians searching across identity lines — or a growing cultural hybridization, where Western symbols of desire coexist with local roots,” the report read.
Or perhaps, they symbolise aspirational fantasies, born from decades of Western media dominance.
Amid hyper-sexualised tags, ‘Couple’ stands out as one of the few search terms that centers emotional and mutual intimacy.
In a society where public displays of affection are policed and sexual education is rare, the audience is buying the fantasy of two people connecting emotionally and erotically more than any other taboo category.
According to Sundaray, the OnlyGuider report reflects where the society is headed: the Indian erotic imagination isn’t just alive but it’s evolving. People are willing to explore their desires, reshape it, and even embrace it.
“But the problem is that there is no common ground, neither from the creator’s perspective nor consumer’s” he added.
“Creators often make content that feels natural or empowering to them, but audiences, who are used to certain standards in storylines, looks, or setups, might not always connect with it. So even if representation is improving, it still raises the question: is this the right kind of representation?”
