New Delhi: Alia Bhatt has issued a stern warning to paparazzi after a video of their newly built Krishna Raj bungalow went viral.

Over the past few months, both Alia and Ranbir Kapoor have been photographed visiting the construction site in Bandra. But, for the first time, a video of the property surfaced on social media. The clip gave a clear view of the six-storey mansion and some glimpses of the inside.

This didn’t go down well with the actress, who put out an official statement on Instagram urging fans and media not to promote such content.

“I understand that in a city like Mumbai, space is limited — sometimes the view from your window is another person’s home. But that does not give anyone the right to film private residences and push those videos online,” she wrote.

Bhatt said that a video of their home, which is still under construction, has been recorded and circulated by multiple publications, without their knowledge or consent.

She calls it a “clear invasion of privacy and a serious security issue.” And, urged not to normalise this violation under the umbrella of “content”.

“Think about it: would you tolerate videos of the inside of your home being shared publicly, without you knowing? None of us would,” she added.

Bhatt also requested fans not to share such content online.

“And to our friends in the media who have carried these images and videos: I urge you to take them down immediately. Thank you,” she concluded.

Legal action, media etiquette

Bhatt’s post received support from fans, who urged her to take legal action.

“I was thinking about this when I saw the content on social media. It is sad how things get missued in today’s times. Sensitivity has gone for a toss and people truly need to introspect. I hope the government takes note of your message,” wrote a user, kunal_om_flamenco_india.

Another said, “Take legal action for those who posted the picture for the first time.”

One of the users, dushan7k commented: “you are living in India not USA, there is nothing like privacy in India. No one cares about it.”

Some users even underlined how the Indian paparazzi need to be taught etiquette.

“Seeing this gives me stalker vibes,” a tweet in reply to the original video read.

Bhatt will next be seen on screen in the Yash Raj Films’ spy universe project, Alpha.

Ranbir Kapoor is gearing up for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part 1. The film will hit the cinema screens on Diwali 2026.

The couple will be reuniting on the big screen after Brahmastra, for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War, which also stars Vicky Kaushal.
