New Delhi, Mar 13 (PTI) P&G Health on Friday said its CSR initiative has been benefiting more than 20,000 people from underserved communities in 18 peninsular villages and 10 islands along the banks of the Brahmaputra River in Assam.
P&G SEHAT’s boat clinic initiative was launched to provide consistent maternal, child, and preventive healthcare to the communities.
“The frequent changes in the course of the river Brahmaputra in Assam, and the unique terrain of the surrounding areas, make access to primary healthcare challenging for the local communities,” P&G Health MD Milind Thatte said in a statement.
P&G SEHAT is continuing to work with its NGO partners to bridge this gap, and provide consistent, reliable and sustained health facilities to people in these underserved communities, through its special Boat Clinic, he added.
The initiative is also accelerating immunisation uptake through active collaboration with the local Primary Health Centres (PHC), the company stated. PTI MSS MR
