Kolkata, Mar 24 (PTI) Mehul Mohanka, Managing Director and Group CEO of Tega Group, has been elected chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Eastern Region for 2026–27, a statement said on Wednesday.
Rudra Chatterjee, Managing Director of Luxmi Tea and chairman of Obeetee Pvt Ltd, has been elected the deputy chairman.
Mohanka joined Tega in 2001 as a whole-time director and became managing director and group CEO in 2016. Under his leadership, the company has expanded globally with 10 plants across four countries and operations in 18 countries, serving customers in 96 nations, the statement said.
Chatterjee heads Luxmi Tea, which produces over 30 million kg of tea annually from 25 estates across India and Africa, including the Darjeeling-based Makaibari estate.
He also chairs Obeetee and serves as honorary consul of Rwanda for eastern India, according to the statement. PTI BSM NN
