Ramnagar (Uttarakhand), Apr 12 (PTI) Nestled along the verdant fringes of Jim Corbett National Park, the 14-acre Aahana Resort is doubling down on both sustainability and scale, as its leadership signals measured expansion plans rooted firmly within Uttarakhand.
Speaking during an interaction with PTI, Managing Director Kamal Tripathi underscored the state’s untapped potential for hospitality growth.
“We would love to expand in the future. Uttarakhand is a state of opportunity for hospitality,” he said, while emphasising that improved infrastructure, particularly enhanced connectivity and the development of a nearby airport, could significantly elevate the region’s tourism appeal.
Set amid a lush landscape of over 4,500 trees, Aahana Resort has positioned itself as a green haven that blends luxury with ecological sensitivity.
Strengthening its wellness proposition, the resort recently introduced French spa brand L’Occitane, marking a strategic move to cater to the rising demand for experiential and wellness-driven travel.
On the expansion front, Director Ayu Tripathi revealed that the property is in the final stages of adding 30 new rooms. “We will become a 99-room property by mid-May to end of May, depending on how much the weather supports us,” she noted, indicating a near-term scale-up aligned with seasonal considerations.
While growth remains a priority, the leadership is clear about its geographic focus.
Director Avni Tripathi highlighted a preference for deepening roots within the state rather than aggressive diversification. “We get a lot of comfort from working within the state. Expansion within Uttarakhand will be very meaningful to us,” she said. PTI RSN TRB
