New Delhi: The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Small Business Administration (SBA) of the US to enhance cooperation on small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), a PIB press release stated.
The agreement seeks to improve MSMEs’ participation in the global market through mutual visits, webinars, and workshops on various topics such as access to trade and export finance, technology and digital trade, green economy, and trade facilitation.
It also considers the development of a “Business Matching Digital Platform” to enhance business opportunities, recognizing the crucial role that MSMEs play in promoting inclusive growth, expanding exports, and boosting employment.
The MoU was signed by S.C. L Das, Secretary, Ministry of MSME, and Isabel Casillas Guzman, Administrator, SBA.
The two sides also agreed to explore the expansion of women-owned small businesses in both countries through a joint conduct of programmes.
The agreement is in line with the direction given by the Leaders of the two countries in the India-US Joint Statement of June 2023.
