French senate Chairman Gerard Latcher on a bilateral visit to India

Larcher and his delegation will meet with Jagdeep Dhankhar, Vice President of India and Chairman of Rajya Sabha. During the visit, the two will discuss the ways to improve cooperation and mutual understanding between the French Senate and the Indian Parliament.

New Delhi: The Chairman of the French Senate, Gerard Larcher, is in India. Along with him is also a delegation of 5 senators. The visit is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

Larcher and his delegation will meet with Jagdeep Dhankhar, Vice President of India and Chairman of Rajya Sabha. During the visit, the two will discuss the ways to improve cooperation and mutual understanding between the French Senate and the Indian Parliament.

The French Senate Chairman will also be given a guided tour of the new Parliament building. As part of his visit, he will also meet with the External Affairs Minister of India, S Jaishankar. During this meeting, the two will discuss the current developments in bilateral relations and India’s growing geopolitical role.

Business leaders of French companies in India will also be met by Larcher. This includes companies in the aerospace and defence sectors. The Senate is the upper house of the French Parliament.The people of France elect 358 senators for a term of six years. The Senate has extensive powers, including the power to vote on laws passed by the government or parliamentary initiative.
