New Delhi: Hours after India carried out Operation Sindoor, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh praised Indian armed forces for the success of the operation. Singh said that a military operation of such intensity and significance was executed without harming any civilians only because of equipment of high quality and professionalism of the armed forces.
He was delivering a keynote address at the National Quality Conclave here, highlighting India’s research and development in the defence sector and quality advancement.
“I congratulate our armed forces for the action they took yesterday and the courage and valour they displayed. The way our armed forces have destroyed terror camps in Pakistan and PoK is a matter of pride for all of us,” Singh said.
“Yesterday we saw an example of what role quality plays. The precision with which ‘Operation Sindoor’ was executed was commendable. In this, nine terrorist camps were destroyed and a good number of terrorists were killed. The way this operation was carried out, without harming any innocent person, with minimum collateral damage, was possible because our formidable and professionally trained Armed forces had high quality equipment,” he added.
His address came hours after the Ministry of Defence (MoD) announced that India thwarted missile and drone attacks by Pakistan against multiple military establishments in the early hours of Thursday.
In a statement Thursday, MoD said Pakistan attempted to target military sites in Awantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Adampur, Bhatinda, Chandigarh, Nal, Phalodi, Uttarlai, and Bhuj. “These were neutralised by the integrated counter UAS grid and air defence systems. The debris of these attacks is now being recovered from a number of locations that prove the Pakistani attacks.”
In response, India targeted air defence radars and systems in Pakistan, neutralising an air defence system in Lahore.
