1st edition of Naval Commanders’ Conference to commence on 5 March

During 3-day conference, CDS, along with Chiefs of Army & Air Force, will discuss coordination of tri-service forces in face of evolving national security situation in the region.

The first edition of the Naval Commanders’ Conference will commence on 5 March. The conference will be held in a hybrid format, with the first phase being held at sea. During the conference, the Chief of Defence Staff, along with the Chiefs of the Indian Army and Indian Air Force, will discuss coordination of the tri-service forces in the face of the evolving national security situation in the region.

The conference, which is held annually, brings together Naval Commanders to discuss strategic, operational, and administrative matters related to maritime security.

The current geopolitical dynamics, regional challenges, and volatile maritime security situation in the region are likely to feature in talks.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will also address Naval Commanders during the conference, and other dignitaries during the three-day conference.

Discussions and consultations will also take place between the naval officers regarding the synchronization of their services in light of common national security goals.

The Naval Commanders’ Conference 2024 will help in charting the course of the Navy’s future amid a rapidly evolving maritime environment.
