It is great that PM Modi is building relationships with European countries, no matter how poor and beleaguered in their continent they might be, every partnership contains opportunities. I don’t see why politicians keep bestowing awards and orders on each other though. It is the job of the leaders of India and Greece to look for areas of cooperation with each other. Giving the ‘highest civilian honor’ imbues the meeting with a sense of corrupt seduction, unbecoming of that solemn resposibility.
