It is amusing to see people who defend the Kerala model, are quick to point out the return of expats as reason for increasing infections. Kerala subsists on expatriate’s remittances. Other states share the burden of contributing to India’s GDP, here is a state that has little industrial activity so to speak of ,and sends all its manpower abroad. Still they have the cheek to boast of “world’s best healthcare” bla bla …..had it not been for the expats, who would have invested in these facilities?
Okay, when you write an article you need to do research and not just copy paste opinions. This article fails to highlight :
1) The huge amount of expats who don’t follow quarantine.
2) The various instances across state where health workers had to literally run behind certain idiots and catch them to take them to quarantine.
3) The government did extensive contact tracing which eliminated the need to do bogus testing.
4) Until the last week the cost of treatment for every covid patient was borne by the government.
Honestly, what hurts more is the fact that you’re crucifying a health minister who is actually standing with the people and the doctors. During Nipah she was not obliged to go to Kozhikode and oversee everything personally. She could’ve just done it from the capital.
This article is extremely biased and omits the mass arrival of expats from across the globe.
The author conveniently leaves out all the steps taken by the government to paint a very broken image of the left government. The government might be far from perfect but this article is a narrative which only a few would agree with.
Alright. One should consider that Kerala has one of the highest number of expats who are returning home from worst covid affected countries. Also people who work in other states are returning and that number is huge. If your idea is to blame, why not look at Kerala’s covid related death rate Vs other states and then start
You have to admit the increase number is due to the return of immigrants as the number of new cases were 0 at one point after the first wave. Kerala have the best healthcare system in all of india. Even the most well developed nations were not able to contain the pandemic and you are blaming the government? Lol. Stop taking money from BJP and do a free press version. India’s biggest disease is you guys taking bribe from politicians and manipulating people.
Unfortunately for our left liberal journalists and experts, first the Swedish model went bust and now the Kerala model. This is a new virus. Not much is known about it. However so full of hatred are the left liberals toward BJP, that they gave up their logic and reasoning just to attack him. Just because Sweeden and Kerala were doing things differently from what the Centre was suggesting, these people drummed up false victories.
Low population their strength

Hindsight is a wonderful asset, which all these “experts” seem to possess in abundance.
