A typical bus length is 40 feet. Add for the safe distance between two buses, let’s say there was a bus every 100 feet. A convoy of 73 buses would mean a convoy 7300 feet long, or approx 2.3 kilometres long.
For a high security convoy of more than 2 kms., the private vehicles were allowed to pass side by side! Our brave soldiers were traveling like the proverbial sitting ducks!!
