Did anyone know that in the beginning the Communists took over the JNU with the tacit consent of the administration and throttled all right wingers out for and it remained their feifdom for decades. They survived as parasites on the nation. Now when the administration wants to free the nation of this malady, even rock star Rajan thinks it is his moral duty to intervene. These people owe no allegiance to the country, they owe it only to their masters and discarded philosophies.
R J – Troll all you want and show your hatred for competent professionals. Rajan was a sane voice that was discomforting to the current government as it wants only yes men & women and cannot tolerate competent, unbiased professionals. The adverse impact on the economy and peace in the society is colossal. The last 3 years were lost years for the country.
“That mad fellow from America” is an apt description for Raghuram Rajan. I would change it a bit to ” That megalomaniac from America.” Surrounded by a sycophantic media buffoons, he thought of himself as a James Bondesque gift to India. Instead of keeping his head down and going about his job quietly and seriously – like central bankers all over the world do – he went around the country giving politically loaded lectures like a narcissist who loved the sound of his voice too much. He should consider himself lucky that he was not fired.
Among the many pieces of good advice he tendered – none of which sadly was ever acted upon – was, Please don’t do Demonetisation. If you must, keep the five hundred rupee notes out of it. Why we have become so allergic to people who have a little grey matter between their ears eludes me.
Merit and brilliance is never understood by illeducated lumpen types. Naturally they are hostile to them. ‘One intelligent person is worth thousands of idiots.’
