However, I differ with him that that the government’s move was wrong. If not this any government some other government at the Centre in future would do. By giving reservations to EBCs in OC category, this government did a great service. All other secular parties when in government show enthusiasm in giving reservations to Muslim minorities citing Sachar Committee Report, none to the weaker upper caste. So, kudos to Modi.

Modi has known only one trick – make empty promises – he knows that he cannot fulfill them, but believes that an average Indian is gullible enough to believe. We do have his bhakts, whose propaganda machinery works overtime to tell us that there is no alternative to Modi. We today know that any alternative is better than a man who lies all the time and is sincere about nothing but remaining in power. He combines officials functions with election rallies but pretends to work for the country. The man is desperate to remain in power by hook or by crook. Let us hope and pray that an average Indian’s intelligence beats the cunningness of the self-styled supreme leader who cannot think beyond himself and feeding the cronies who fund his election. I hope one day we will know about people who are funding his elections and one day the bhakts in media will also be exposed for their sinister designs.
MASTERSTROKE by Modi in the form of reservation for economically weaker sections among upper castes including Muslims. I recall an incident. An elderly villager in Meerut district received three carton boxes of liquor bottles from three warring candidates ( one each) contesting the village panchayat elections. The villager had 17 registered votes in his family. Such a large number of votes matter in panchayat elections. When the candidates came to know that they had been deceived by the cunning villager as his family members could cast votes to only one candidate. The candidates joined hands to approach the villager and asked him about his choice and return the carton boxes of liquor bottles to the other two. Without losing his nerves, nonplussed villager summoned his elder son and asked him to bring all the three carton boxes from the storeroom. Now the villager asked the candidates that candidates who did not want his votes was at liberty to pick up his carton box and leave the house. Now it was the turn of the candidates to be at a loss to pick up cartons as the candidate picking up the carton would surely lose the votes from the elder villager family. Similar is the situation of all the non-BJP parties. By opposing the move, they cannot dare to annoy the 15% population of prospective beneficiaries of the new reservation.
there is a game theory aspect to this that has never been considered/modeled. Political science may not use maths or economics to understand polling psychologies or outcomes
The Constitution itself is not safe at the sunset hour. It can be amended in the time taken to rustle up a Thanksgiving meal.
