The comments have put what I believe so well and succinctly. I knew I found the inference that wearing pink frocks and make up= female terribly insulting, but the commentators have explained why I felt like that. A black person would be insulted if a white person thought that donning an Afro wig and getting lip injections entitled them to identify as black. Btw I basically don’t believe in gender identity anyway, If I had been born a man I know exactly what that version of me would be like, small, non alpha, but feeling far freerer to exhibit my innate aggression and promiscuity than I am able to as a woman. I think I would be Hugh Grant.
You’re missing the whole point. If gender is a social construct, then why are trans people so hung up on presenting as “male” or “female?” That’s the heart of the issue that rubs Gender Criticals or TERFs the wrong way. It’s insulting that we’d be forced to accept someone 100% as a woman when their concept of what it means to be a woman is based on stereotypes. You don’t feel “manly enough” so you want to wear dresses and wear makeup? Go ahead, but in the meantime accept that you’re still biologically a man who just happens to enjoy things that historically or even recently have been associated with femininity. You don’t have to invalidate your biological sex to enjoy these things. By “transforming” yourself into a woman in order to feel better about wearing skirts or make up, you actually undo a lot of the work feminists have put into breaking the hold gender norms have had on us for millenia. Basically, you can’t be Gender Critical and thereby feminist if you’re trans.
I agree 100% with you. trans women love women stereotypes. Feminists fight against stereotypes. So “trans women” don’t support feminist struggle.
That’s it.

Wow no wonder I’ve never heard of ‘Jennifer Saul’ lmao. What are the odds this clown also routinely pontificates on white feminism? Whilst Whitey writes her gazzilionth thesis on “Conversational Implicature, Speaker Meaning, and Calculability”, Rowling will keep on doing actual work for vulnerable women and children.
If it’s wrong to put females into the category of “female” because they do not identify as such, then it’s wrong to put women into the category of “cis” when they don’t identify as such. Trans women are men. Capitulation to men is not feminist, which is the rub you’re going to get from feminists who see trans women as akin to flat-earthers.
TL;DR: Feminists are giant hypocrites again.

We have a TERF here.
We have a misogynist who likes to cloak their misogyny in “trans activism” here!
