Much ado about nothing. The hype only exists in media world. Nothing more then a chance to make a few more bucks. There are a hundred and one things more important than hitting a sphere with a flat object. The author needs to get real, but then it’s his bread and butter I guess.
Absolutely. Totally shameless, hypocritical, despicable lot — our media.
Dear hacks: no one takes the press seriously anymore.
The match between India and Pakistan is just like any other match in any sport where the spectators know both sides will give their best. Just that cricket happens to be the subcontinent’s predominant game now, it gives something to people on both sides to get excited about. A few shouts of ‘India, India’ or ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ is not equivalent to jingoism. It is more than likely that mature ex-cricketers turned commentators like Sanjay Manjrekar, Sourav Ganguly and Wasim Abram will stay neutral. As far as hype is concerned, the UK media is already terming it as the ‘mother-and-father’ of all matches, and Chris Gayle – with his hilarious Indo-Pak suit – reinforces it. Yes, it will be a show worth watching for its energy on the field and excitement in the spectators’ stands. Enjoy till the post-match taunts and trolls on social media become the subject of another 100 articles in the media tomorrow.
