Ranchi (Jharkhand) [India], April 1: On the occasion of World TB Day, the RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Center–in collaboration with the SBI Foundation–played a pivotal role in the state’s mission to become TB-free by conducting TB screenings and diagnostic tests, as well as distributing medicines and nutrition kits in Ranchi and Khunti (Jharkhand). Working in conjunction with CCL, the RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Center conducted TB screenings in the Chakara district, thereby raising awareness regarding the disease. Furthermore, by coordinating with the local district administration, the Center contributed significantly toward the goal of eradicating TB. In partnership with BCCL and with the support of the Jharkhand State TB Elimination Department, the Center organized medical camps to conduct TB screenings, making concerted efforts to combat the disease.

The team at the RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Center is working extensively across the entire state–in collaboration with various corporate entities and utilizing CSR funds–to ensure that the people of Jharkhand remain free from TB, all with the active support of the State Government. In recognition of these efforts, Dr. Irfan Ansari (Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Jharkhand), along with Jharkhand’s Additional Chief Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh, Shashi Prakash Jha (Health Commissioner, Government of Jharkhand), Dr. Kamlesh Kumar (State TB Officer, Government of Jharkhand), and all District TB Officers, lauded the work undertaken by the RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Center. All officials pledged their full support to this campaign in the future as well, stating that they would very soon make Jharkhand a TB-free state.

On this occasion, in the presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. Irfan Ansari (Honorable Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Jharkhand), the Government of Jharkhand honored the RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Center for its ‘Outstanding Work’ in the fields of TB prevention, diagnosis, and the distribution of nutritional kits to TB patients. Distinguished guests present at the event included Mr. Ajay Kumar Singh (Additional Chief Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, Government of Jharkhand), Mr. Shashi Prakash Jha (Health Commissioner, Government of Jharkhand), Dr. Kamlesh Kumar (State TB Officer, Government of Jharkhand), Dr. Dharmendra Kumar (President and Guinness World Record Holder, RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Center), and Project Head Yogita Borkar, along with her team. During this ceremony, held in Namkum, Ranchi, and coinciding with International TB Day, the RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Center was recognized as the ‘Best organisation’ in the state of Jharkhand for its contributions to the fields of TB prevention and diagnosis.
