Indian Left’s dogmatic response to Iran strikes, even dragging in Modi’s Israel visit, is hardly surprising. Iran is no trusted ally, criticised Article 370 move. It didn’t gift us Chabahar Port; India paid for it. Sentimentalism isn’t policy. Iran alone is to blame for its isolation. Indians must recognise that.

US can’t let go of its global policeman role. How will Trump sell it to MAGA?

Trump came to power with heady anti-interventionist political rhetoric. It’s already thinning out—Venezuela, Iran. No matter how seductive it sounds on campaign trail, America can’t jettison its global policeman role so easily. MAGA must wake up to this. Will be interesting how Trump spins it to his base now.
