UP government too should focus on improving people’s lives. Is the average child going to a slightly better functioning school, has there been a marginal improvement in the quality of healthcare in government hospitals, do less well off families eat slightly more and better food. Yeh kuchh naya daur aa gaya hai where governments are not expected to do anything of value for their citizens, who should genuflect before them for the great privilege of being ruled by them. Read so many columns nowadays saying the food is inedible, the air conditioning does not work, the kitchen and the toilets are both in a mess but this is the only restaurant we will ever go to. As for UP Police …
