Karnataka BJP legislator Ravikumar brands Muslim IAS officer Fouzia Taranum a Pakistani. It’s reflection of a sick mind, similar to MP minister Vijay Shah’s communal slur against Colonel Sofiya Qureshi. BJP’s silence and condonation of its legislators’ criminality amounts to dog whistling. It undoes Operation Sindoor’s seminal message of unity.
Trump realises Russia-Ukraine isn’t India-Pakistan
Trump returned to power with the swashbuckling promise of ending Russia-Ukraine war. Now, he realises the limitation of the leverage he enjoys with Putin. There’s no special friendship, no particular respect either. And Russia-Ukraine isn’t India-Pakistan, where nuclear deterrence always kicked in. Bluff and buster isn’t art of the deal.
The Print editorial team came guns blazing in support of Prof. Mahmudabad. It was fun to watch though. A single arrest activated the whole liberal-secular ecosystem. Modi sure knows how to rile up his opponents and get under their skin.
The unfortunate part is the hounding of BJP MPs/MLAs for “controversial” remarks. If Mahmudabad can dog-whistle and openly instigate Muslims against Hindus, BJP MPs/MLAs have every right to do the opposite.
What about the dog-whistling of Prof. Mahmudabad (even referred to by the Supreme Court in it’s bail order)? What about the consistent Hindu-baiting and anti-Hindu hatred spewed by Prof. Mahmudabad across different social media platforms and academic forums?
The Print, in cahoots with the liberal-secular cabal, went hammer and tongs at the Haryana government for arresting Mahmudabad.
But the very same media outlets want the BJP to expel it’s MPs and MLAs for their comments targeting Muslim individuals. What kind of hypocrisy is this? Aren’t you even ashamed of yourselves?
If Prof. Mahmudabad can be exonerated by saying that he was “exercising his right to free speech”, then why shouldn’t the same standards be applicable for BJP MPs/MLAs?
Not stray incidents. Part of a pattern.
