  1. What causes concern is that Mr Mark Rutte is the face of NATO, interchangeable with the EU. India seeks a strategic partnership with Europe, collectively and with individual members like Germany, France, Britain. While the economic partnership will proceed on its inherent value to both sides, as in the proposed FTA, Russia will cast a shadow on the political understanding. For Europe, now a mortal threat. For India, a traditional friend.
