UP Police’s high-handed enforcement of the ‘love jihad’ law must stop. Criminalising inter-faith marriages between consenting adults is constitutionally unacceptable and damages communal harmony. Judiciary will review it in the course of time. For now, it’s the UP government and the Union Home Ministry which need to impose a restraint.
