Opposition’s notice for resolution to remove Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla for alleged partisanship is symbolic, given NDA’s numbers. It underlines fraught relations between Treasury and Opposition Benches. Speaker’s words and actions make it worse. Opposition should, however, reflect whether it’s hurting or helping the government with its disruptive tactics.

It’s time for India and Pakistan to get past the drama and play

The U-turn has come, as expected. ICC called Pakistan’s bluff and refused to relent. What started with a stupid move to ban Mustafizur has ended with Pakistan heaping humiliation on itself and dragging Bangladesh into the mess. Now, drama done, it’s time for India and Pakistan to handshake and play.
