Extradition of Mumbai attacks accused Tahawwur Rana from the US is a notable diplomatic success. While the Modi government has secured more extraditions than its predecessors, any chest-thumping would be premature. Several high-value fugitives including Sanjay Bhandari remain beyond India’s reach. And 26/11 masterminds sit pretty in Pakistani safe havens.

AICC session is another opportunity wasted by Congress. It should’ve listened to Shashi Tharoor

Another AICC session, another opportunity wasted by India’s principal Opposition to reimagine its politics. It should’ve listened to Shashi Tharoor—that it should embody hope, not resentment, and be party of future, not past. The Hindu conservative vegetarian vigilantism isn’t Indian. It has no understanding of the diversity of food and religious cultures within Hinduism. 1. Quite predictably there is no editorial piece on the police violence against teachers in Kolkata. Neither were there any on the Supreme Court verdict.
However, when the Calcutta High Court order was passed, The Print came down heavily on the court and the judges. Now that the exact same order has been upheld by the Supreme Court, the editorial board has gone mum.
Neither did Mr. Shekhar Gupta find it necessary to do a CTC on this issue after the Supreme Court verdict.
    This silence speaks volumes.

  2. On a visit to Delhi some years ago, filled with nostalgia for Calcutta, visited C R Park. A little piece of Bengal. Incomplete without its customary food choices.
