It’s one thing to govern the country in a data-free environment, but a criticism-free environment will complete the circle of political arrogance. Without Census, policymaking is flying blind. Now, dissolving a panel on statistical surveys after some members raised concerns on its delay is another setback. But who’s counting, right?

Global Times op-ed a hit & run on Jaishankar. He makes China uncomfortable

China’s state-run Global Times targets EAM S Jaishankar in an op-ed and withdraws it in a classic hit-and-run tactic. Beijing views Jaishankar as the architect of India’s new US policy. 1. Why forget West Bengal? Because Mr. Shekhar Gupta is a fanboy of Ms. Mamata Banerjee?
President’s rule must be imposed on both West Bengal and Manipur.

  2. No easy solutions for Manipur. Whether Article 356 or 355 ( not formally notified ), the state’s law and order and security situation is in any case being dealt with from Delhi. A political problem. How can the Meitis and Kukis be persuaded that they can live together harmoniously in one small state.
