What has unfolded in Delhi is a ‘quality of life’ election. Killer air, noxious Yamuna water and garbage mountains pushed aside the politics of free-this, free-that. Kejriwal’s single-minded transactional politics once struck a chord with people, but the election results show voters won’t live without ideas and ideology for long.
By winning all three state polls after the 2024 general election, the BJP has underlined its resilience, focus and political smarts. Those who imagined that the setback will send the BJP on the downward slope will gain by respectfully studying how it recovered. And introspect on where they messed up.
