BJP-led MP government asking colleges to buy Puranas, Upanishads, and RSS functionaries’ books is par for the course. Educational institutions becoming arenas for ideological and cultural battles is unfortunate. Prescribing anti-English books in the name of promoting Indian knowledge amounts to playing with students’ futures. Linguistic parochialism is terrible politics.

  1. The merit of this issue notwithstanding, when are you all going to write a 50 word edit on the horrible situation in Bengal? Why did this take precedence in your editorial? Surely the editors cant be thinking this takes priority over what is happening in Bengal?
