SubscriberWrites: Opposition at its lowest!!

It is high time when opposition parties should try to mend their own houses in order instead of finding the faults with the personal habits of people.

There is a famous incident in Ramayana when Rama reaches Sugreev’s cave, He asked Hanuman if Saugreev will come to see him. What Hanuman answered is of prime importance not only for values but for the fine churning of personality on a positive side. Hanuman asked Prabhu! Diplomacy says that Sugreev should come out and welcome you since you are elder, mightier but I feel since you are elder you should take the move! Here lies the beauty of Indian culture which makes you humble with your greatness. We have always heard that the trees full with fruits and flowers are always bent ones. The greater you are the more humble you will be.

Irony is that opposition in the name of opposing the government has forgotten, ignored and left behind this age old lesson to accept the humility with great admiration. The way they people made fun of our H’ble Vice President Sh. Jagdeesh Dhankhar and one of the projected leader of Congress Sh. Rahul Gandhi enjoyed this entire mockery by making video raises a serious question on our political mortality! How beautifully Vice President admitted that he loves to bow out of respect, due to his values! He bows in front of everyone showing his gracious presence of love and warmth for eternal source within each one of us. Instead of appreciating his beautiful gesture, from which our young generation can learn so much, they are making fun of him.

Here I find the words of John Stuart Mill most appropriate when he says, “War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse.” Making a mockery of personal habit of constitutional post just for political rivalry shows the moral bankruptcy of opposition parties who are so much frustrated with the success of government that they have aligned to such low acts of attacking the Vice President’s positive virtues. All the greatest people in the world have given the world the message of love and humility. Even the greatest one of his times whom even the opposition parties see in the light of reverence, Mahatma Gandhi was a great believer in humility. Mahatma Gandhi says on humility “Service without humility is selfishness and egotism.” He further writes,” My varnashram refuses to bow the head before the greatest potentate on earth, but my varnashram compels me to bow down my head in all humility before knowledge, purity, before every person where I see God face to face.” This quote is sufficient to support the nature of Sh. Dhankhar who bows for namaste to everyone.

Opposition has lost the power to his such degraded value less behaviour only. The ego of power, family rule, superiority complex of being ruling party for long time, colonial mindset of false ego has alienated them from the masses. It is high time when opposition parties should try to mend their own houses in order instead of finding the faults with the personal habits of people. Only that can save them from political bankruptcy. The more respectfully they behave, the more people will love them. If they can’t leave their arrogance, their vanity behind people will show them the way out of politics. It is well known fact that despite the long Anti- incumbency in Gujarat, BJP won the elections because one of congress leaders had spoken ill words for Modi, addressing him as “Neech”. This hurt the public sentiments. Indian people have developed a different taste now. They will not accept such unruly attitude from so called elite and sophisticated politicians. Hopefully they learn from such incidents and behave with maturity. They need to work hard on field, find the real substantial issues where criticism is required . If they will work hard for sure they will save themselves from falling into the trap of cheap politics and value less behaviour. Till then, in a world full of false egoistic people, we need more people like Sh. Dhankhar Sahib who can inspire for values of love, gratitude and warmth.
